I SUPPOSE we should not be surprised that Graham Watson enthuses about the EU, after all, he is a Lib Dem MEP who has a very well paid job with lots of lucrative expenses!

It's a pity he does not tell us about the downside of the EU, particularly in the Eurozone with massive unemployment, a currency in crisis and several countries either broke or about to be so.

Added to this list is a determination by several powerful figures in Europe to create a federal state in which Chancellor Merkel has been quoted as saying that member countries must be prepared to cede sovereignty.

He also conveniently forgets to mention that the immigration problem that concerns so many people in this country is due to EU laws on free movement of its citizens — a problem which can only get worse as more eastern European countries join up.

If Mr Cameron fails to renegotiate terms of membership which are favourable to this country — and I doubt if he will — then we will have no option but to have a referendum on leaving, something the Lib Dems do not want the people of this country to have, and if it is, as I suspect, a resounding yes, then Graham Watson will have to start looking for another job.

REGARDING the letter in the Times on May 30 from Sir Graham Watson, I suppose he has to write complementary things about Europe, if not, he would lose his pension.

With a bit of luck we won't have to read many Liberal Democrat views on Europe after the next elections, thanks to UKIP.

If my country is unable to make a trading pact with the USA without the assistance of Europe, then the politicians have a lot to answer for.

For interest about Europe, we have just lost the vote on further money for them to waste.

It's going to cost us an extra half a billion pounds to add to the £14-billion we already give them.

The question about Europe should be: Do you wish to belong to a united states of Europe, with all power transferred to Brussels in the hands of people you didn't vote for, don't know and can't vote out?

As for UKIP they are at least making our 'betters' look behind them, wondering if they will be in power next year.

SO, the Liberal Democrat MEP Sir Graham Watson wants us to believe that as a result of an EU/USA trade agreement each UK household is going to be better off by nearly £400.

That is pure speculation. Why do the Pro EU deceivers keep using figures to try to persuade us that we are better off in the EU? It hasn't happened yet.

They conveniently fail to tell us that while we pay nearly £18.5 billion to the EU, we receive back just £8.1 billion.

Where does the rest of our money go?

Fat salaries and expenses, extravagant offices, wasteful moves of the EU Parliament between Brussels and Strasbourg, and fraud.

For years the EU has been unable to audit its books. Just think what we could do with that £18 billion. Things we currently struggle to fund like the NHS, care for the elderly, education etc.

But, it is not just about money. I would sooner be poor and free! Those un-elected bureaucrats dictate to our Government.

We have lost our freedom to rule our own country and have become subservient to a totalitarian, humanist Parliament that proudly houses itself in a building modelled on the tower of Babel. That tells us a lot if we think about it.  UKIP is right – the only way is out!

GRAHAM Watson's argument in last week's Times is difficult to follow.

He said that a deal done by the Unites States and the E.U would benefit Britain.

Why is it that the US who are outside the EU can do a deal and we who are in the EU cannot?

It therefore follows that when we leave we will be in a better position to negotiate our own trade deals, not only with the countries of Europe but with all countries around the world.

Once we leave the club that costs us £50 million pounds every day, we can relax the excessive red tape demanded by the EU and encourage small and medium size business to expand creating more jobs and helping our balance of payments.

Let us be thankful that we have our own currency otherwise we would be dragged into a far worse mess like many other European countries.

I look forward to the day Britain leaves the EU and becomes a self governing sovereign nation once again.
