A SEMINAR on 'Emerging Markets — Risk and Reward' was hosted by Barry Bennett of Raymond James Investment Services at Yelverton recently.
The event was also a networking meeting for the Dartmoor Partnership promoting its new membership drive.
More than 30 individuals and professionals were entertained by 'City Gent' Christopher Nicholas of Capital International Ltd. Refreshments were provided by wine merchant Norman Price and by Chinese restaurant Jasmine.
Christopher Nicholas gave a fascinating insight into the growth and opportunities of the emerging markets. The incredible rate of urbanisation — people moving from the country to the cities — is the equivalent to a city the size of Plymouth every day for the next five years!
The next 'Moor from the City' seminar is on Thursday February 9 with a double header from City Gents, Geoff Wenden of Bank of New York Mellon on 'Investing for Income' and Philip Thitchener of JP Morgan on 'Thematic Investing' – including gold, consumer goods, and infrastructure themes.
To book contact Barry Bennett of Raymond James at his Yelverton Office on 01822 855060.
