HONEY Fair will soon be causing a buzz in Callington with a mix of traditional and new ideas, including the first ever pannier market on the day with 28 stalls.
In addition to the large street fair and market in New Road on October 2, the pannier market will be full of goods, local produce and arts and crafts.
Rowlands Fair will be offering plenty of fun for the family and in the town hall the Cornish Bee Keepers' Association will have a selection of local honey products as well as live bees.
Local schools have been busy creating pictures for the 'Children's Art Competition' and their entries can all be seen in the hall from 10am to 7pm. Honey cream teas will be available and in the council chamber 'Liskeard Model Society' will have a display.
The theme for the shop window displays this year is 'Cornish Legends' and there will also be exhibitions in St Mary's Church and the Methodist Chapel where refreshments will be offered.
Live music during the day on the street stage will be provided by Jumpin' Out Jazz, Johnny Mac and Colin Clarke, who will have people dancing, singing and joining in. Plympton Owls will also be there.
The day will run from 10am to 7pm and money raised will go the Callington Lions' charities.
l The whole of New Road and the New Road car parks and the pannier market will be closed to traffic on honey fair day. Alternative parking is available at the Saltash Road free car park and the recreation field.
