STAFF and customers at Somerfield supermarket in Tavistock have so far clocked up £250 for the Leonard Cheshire Foundation, which is the beneficiary of a current fundraising challenge from John O? Groats to Land?s End.

Among the many people the charity has helped is Peter Tavy man Mark Ralph, who was left with a severe brain injury after a motorcycle accident. Mark and fellow supporters were cheering on disabled walker Chris Moon as he came through Tavistock on Monday en route to Land?s End.

The walker, who lost an arm and leg while clearing landmines in Mozambique, aims to raise £1-million for the foundation by completing the challenge in 25 days.
