YELVERTON Golf Club ladies' section played an extra medal competition and competed for the Evelyn West Trophy on October 25.

The Evelyn West Trophy is only open to those who have won a medal competition during the year.

The silver division was won by Margaret Flanagan — who also won the trophy — with a net 73. Runner-up was Anne Ashley with a net 76 and third was Kay Creaven with a net 78.

The bronze division was won by Lilias Strachan — whose broken arm has made a great recovery! — with a net 81. Runner-up was Penny Hunter and third was Georgie Evans, both with a net 86.

Thursday was a glorious sunny autumn day and the ladies played their November medal. There were some superb scores.

The silver division was won by Gillie Jarvis with a net 68 — her handicap has now been reduced to 5.

The bronze division was won by Lilias Strachan with a net 75, second was Sally Timpson, a new member, with a net 77 and third was Helen Harris with a net 81. Laura Eastwood, Gillie Jarvis an Lilias Strachan all did a hole in two shots.

The ladies will hold their annual meeting at Yelverton Golf Club on Sunday November 18 at 3pm.
