Having fun on the run

MARC Smerdon from Princetown was one of the 1,500 runners who took part in the Eden Project Marathon and Half Marathon in St Austell, Cornwall earlier this month.

Marc came in a superb ninth place, running in the under 40s male category, with a time of 3 hours 13 minutes 55 seconds — the winner was Duncan Oates of the St Austell Running Club in a time of 2hrs 55mins 16 secs.

However, one of the race's highlights was undoubtedly the new world record completed byAdam Holland, the 23-year-old runner from Tavistock, who became the youngest person to run 100 marathons.
