2008 was a great year for Adam Holland to get started on his marathon.
He sucessfully completing 25 marathons – four of which Adam completed in under three hours, although he was disappointed he did not beat his personal best. However, Adam, from Tavistock, said there is always 2009! Overall Adam had completed 30 marathons and one 'Ultra.'
The Tavistock Athletic Club runner aims to beat his PB in the London Marathon 2009 and he also plans to take part in marathons at Gloucester on January 25, South Devon Coastal, January 21, Duchy March 8, Jurassic Coast March 27/28/29, Taunton April 5, London April 26, Neolithic May 3 and Windermere 10 marathons in 10 days May 8 to 17 and Grantham Canal Run 29.3miles, February 28 and March 1.
Adam is still hoping to get into Guinness Book Of World Records for become the youngest person to do 100 marathons – 'all' he has to do is 11 marathons a year for the next six years but he is hoping to completed 35 marathons in 2009.
Adam expressed his thanks for all the help in 2008 to Jason Ward, Peasgood family, Peter Bazley and Nigel Eadie.
This year he has competed in races including: Abingdon, London, Cornish marathon, Walt Disney World Marathon (North America), Snowdonia, Coastal Trail South Devon, Long Eaton, Duchy Marathon, Coastal Trail Cornwall, Taunton, Coastal Trail Exmoor, Blackpool, Neolithic Marathon, Isle Of Wight, Brathay Windermere, Needles Cross Country, Perth Marathon (Australia), Salisbury 5-4-3-2-1, Wovlerhampton, Robin Hood Marathon, Atlantic Coast Challenge, Dartmoor Vale, Snowdonia, Coastal Trail Poole, Doyen Of The Down (30miles), Hastings 100th Anniversary Marathon.
