TAVISTOCK Swimming Club members Amber Francis, Luke Stephens, Jake France, Chloe Marks, Emily Attfield and James Anderson took part in the recent series of Devon Development Galas.

They all swam well with many personal best times and brought home an impressive 11 medal haul - one gold (Luke 11yrs 200m fly), five silver (Emily 12yrs 800m, 200m and 100m freestyle; James 13yrs 1500m freestyle and 200m fly) and five bronze medals (Chloe 13yrs 400m freestyle; Emily 12yrs 400m freestyle, 200m fly and 100m breaststroke; James 13yrs 100m fly). Emily also received a BAGCAT award for her overall performance (third place).

Other places achieved by the swimmers were: Amber (10yrs) 13th 200m breaststroke; Luke fourth 200m backstroke and fifth 200m freestyle; Jake (11yrs) fifth 200m breaststroke and 11th 200m freestyle; Chloe fourth 800m freestyle, fifth 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke and 200m freestyle, and 6th 100m backstroke; Emily fourth 100m IM, 200m breaststroke, sixth 200m backstroke, eighth 100m backstroke, and 11th 100m fly; James fourth 200m backstroke, fifth 100m breaststroke, sixth 400m freestyle, seventh 200m breaststroke and 100m backstroke, eighth 100m IM, ninth 100m freestyle, and 10th 200m freestyle.
