MAY I, on behalf of the organisers, thank everyone for turning out in such numbers to support local charities to raise funds at the recent Charity Bonanza.
We had 18 charities at the Tavistock Pannier Market, raising funds in order to help local people, and, due to the wonderful generosity of people living in and around Tavistock we estimate that the event raised about £4,000. Local residents can be assured that this money will all be used for local, good causes.
As well as the charities and their volunteers I must thank the deputy mayor of Tavistock, Cllr John Sheldon, and his consort for coming along to open the event and then spend some time visiting the charities. Also, many thanks to the market reeve, Dwain Carruthers who, together with his hard working staff, made life easy for us all on the day and during the previous evening whilst 'setting-up' tables. They joined everyone else in making this such an enjoyable event and one of Tavistock's finest.

ON behalf of all those involved with the Tavistock branch of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign I would like to say a big thank you to the people of the Tavistock area for their generosity and support during our collection week June 17 to 23; flag day in the town on June 22, and Bere Alston coffee morning. An amazing £1,556.61 was raised.
A special thank you to all those who gave their time to collect for us, and to Tavistock Methodist Church and West Devon Borough Council for their assistance.
The support, research and family care provided by the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is making a great difference to many, many young lives. Thank you.
