A man has been fined and had his driving licence endorsed after admitting driving without due care and attention in Tavistock.

John King, 65, of Roundswell in Barnstaple, was stopped by police on Plymouth Road in Tavistock, the A386, on April 16 last year.

He admitted the offence at an earlier hearing in January.

Appearing before Barnstaple magistrates on Tuesday (March 29), he was fined £249, ordered to pay a £34 surcharge to victim services and to pay £85 court costs. His driving record was endorsed with five points.
