OKEHAMPTON police are warning people to be aware after a man was acting suspiciously towards two girls in Simmons Park between 7pm and 8pm on Monday.
Sergeant Ian Preston said the man followed the girls, who had been playing in the long jump pit, and was watching them from the bushes. At one point he approached them and asked what they were doing.
'He did not do anything offensive but his behaviour was enough to cause the girls concern,' said the officer. 'He appeared to deliberately avoid a family in the park, which is odd, and sat opposite the girls, watching them.
The man, who was said to look drunk from the way he was walking, was described as white, between 36 and 42 in age with ginger shoulder-length hair, a light ginger moustache and a beer belly. He was wearing a shirt and light blue jeans and an old black leather coat.
