A MUSIC school in Tavistock is busy targeting local musicians for rare and unusual jobs in pop music. Clive?s Easylearn Pop Music School will be re-opening in October at Whitchurch Primary School and is one of a string of similar schools re-opening across the UK. The franchise, owned and operated by Rehan Symonds, offers a unique brand of simplified pop and rock music training in guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, vocals and dance choreography. The weekly sessions also enable participants to experience ?jamming?, singing and dancing together right from the start of their courses. The school was started last year by Neil Marcer, a local music teacher, and it uses the ?easylearn? system developed by Clive Brooks the brains behind the UK network. Mr Symonds is keen to encourage local musicians to come forward to be trained as tutors in the new school which operates on Tuesday evenings. He said: ?I live in the area and know that the place is teeming with great musical talent, but opportunities to earn money in rock and pop have always been pretty much non-existent until now. ?I want to change all that and give our local musicians the unusual chance to supplement their incomes doing something that they will really enjoy for a change.? Clive Brooks said: ?We?ve done away with boring theory and made rock and pop music-making simple and fun ? our easylearn courses are straightforward and direct.? Musicians do not need to have previous teaching experience as there is a simple training system in place to help get up to speed.
