AFTER the success of the classical concerts in May ?part two? of the Canal Bicentennial Festival?s music events comes into play this month.
The programme, organised by Tavistock Forward, starts on August 15 with Jazz at the Quay when the Plymouth Jazz Club hold their annual event at Morwellham Quay.
Two days later on August 17 the Renaissance Dance Troupe will be performing in the Meadows, Tavistock. Here the audience can get up and dance or just sit back and enjoy the skill and artistry of the performers. This event is free.
Young rock enthusiasts can have hands on experience with a special ?Rock On? youth music workshop in Tavistock Town Hall on August 20. The free workshops will lead to an evening performing their new learned skills.

Busker Stripy Howling Hancock will be entertaining the customers at the Farmers? Market on August 23 from 9am.
Local musicians will be playing blues, folk and jazz in one huge jam session when they take part in the Acoustic Cafe at Morwellham Quay from 8pm to 11pm on August 30. Tickets are £3.50.
On the same day you can meet Queen Elizabeth I and her court in the Meadows from 11am. There will also be face painting, reading and a teddy bears? picnic.
Spokesman Kelvin Stagg said while the May concerts featured the best of classical music with the Ten Tors Orchestra ?part two? is geared to embrace a different range of music which includes jazz, rock, blues and folk.
?We want to provide something for everyone,? said Kelvin.
It is hoped the two parts this year will be combined in future years as it is planned to make this an annual event.
