THE president for the 2012 Okehampton Show was chosen at Okehampton and District Agricultural Association's annual meeting on February 23.

Vet Philip Davies was elected president, with Michael Crocker president-elect for 2012. John Hockridge retains his position as chairman, with Mark Woodridge acting as vice-chairman.

The 2011 accounts prepared by Simpkins Edwards were presented to the executive committee for approval.

The association made a profit following the 2011 show, but gate numbers were down on previous years. It is thought this was due to poor weather on the day of the event.

The 105th Okehampton Show will take place on Thursday August 9 — trade stand bookings are now being received and new enquiries are encouraging.

Local businesses are particularly welcome to take a stand at the show.
