A TAVISTOCK couple successfully rearranged their wedding with four days’ notice in order to avoid limiting their guests once again due to coronavirus restrictions.
Megan Carr and Ashley Miller were due to marry on May 30 this year but due to lockdown they postponed their wedding until October 9.
But luckily, when further restrictions were looking likely the couple took the decision to move the wedding forward to last Saturday (September 26) in order to keep the 30 guests they had already painstakingly reduced from 119.
Their instincts were correct of course with the Government announcing on September 22 that from Monday, September 28 weddings would go from 30 to 15.
Megan said: ‘We did think that restrictions would get tougher so on the Tuesday before the wedding we decided to move the wedding and we were very lucky that we were able to.’
They were relieved that everyone, including their suppliers and venues, were able to change dates with four days’ notice.
The couple were married at St Eustachius’ Church and the reception was held at St Mellion International Resort.
Megan said that the wedding day was ‘absolutely magical’.
