OKEHAMPTON's Charter Hall will be filled to bursting with stalls at a special charity bazaar this weekend.

The event, on Saturday, July 27, is being held to raise money for Okehampton's Museum of Dartmoor Life.

Organiser Edna Hicks said she was delighted with the response to a similar event held earlier this summer — and she has high hopes of making the bazaar a regular monthly event next year, if it proves to be a continued success.

'The atmosphere and amount of people there was excellent — I think the traders themselves were surprised how good it was,' said Edna, a trustee of the museum.

Saturday's bazaar will feature 20 stalls with wide range of goods including hand crafted items, jewellery, antiques, cakes, a tombola and new this time — a Body Shop stall.

The Lions Club of Okehampton will be providing refreshments on the day.

The charity bazaar will run from 9am until 12.30pm — all welcome.

All proceeds will go towards museum funds and Edna is keeping her fingers crossed this Saturday's event will surpass the last, which raised just over £200.
