A BERE Ferrers resident has gone for the chop to raise funds for repair work to the children's play park in the village.
Bev Slaughter had all his hair shaved off to help raise funds for the repair of the zip slide in the children's play area in the recreation field at Bere Ferrers.
Bev said: 'Fundraising has been taking place for several weeks to pay for strengthening the zip slide and work is now in hand and going well.
'The shaving took place at the No 12 hairdressing salon in Bere Alston, where Dawn Rolls sharpened her scissors and got to work!'
Bev has raised £300 towards the overall cost of £2,000.
The Bere Ferrers Villagers' Group was very grateful to all the individuals and groups who have made donations and to those who supported all the fundraising events so far.
