CURRENT upper sixth form students at Kelly College in Tavistock, have been reaping the rewards of the hard work they have put into their university applications, with many already receiving offers from their chosen courses.
These include offers to read engineering at Lincoln College, Oxford, Imperial College London, Southampton and Loughborough. Offers to read law have also been made from King's College, London, Cardiff and Exeter. Other offers have included exploration and resource geology, mathematics and economics, politics and international relations and classical civilisation.
These offers follow an impressive year in which Kelly College students secured a 100% A-Level pass rate for the third consecutive year and places at top universities, including the University of Cambridge, the University of Durham and King's College, London.
Lower down the sixth form, students have also been focusing on their future education.
Earlier this term, lower sixth form students and their parents were introduced to the process of making university applications through UCAS during a lecture presented by Sue Garrett from the University of Bath school liaison team.
Sue was able to provide students and parents with an insight into what admissions tutors are looking for on university applications and gave valuable detail as to what could be included on the all-important personal statement.
