Penzance A 2 Tavistock A 3 THE willingness to travel the long distance to Penzance was sadly lacking. Having had 16 people available on the previous home game, this time, having to draft players from the 3rd XI and make the journey with no substitutes was a concern. Tavistock were under pressure for the first ten minutes. But having weathered the storm they started to get into their rhythm and began to control the game. Looking solid at the back, Tavistock worked the ball up the pitch. The pressure paid off when a rebound short corner was neatly slotted by Aveyard. The momentum carried on but Tavistock, missing out on a penalty claim, saw one given against them that levelled the score. The balance was corrected when the visitors worked the ball up the pitch using the neat linking of Heard, Aveyard and Honey. Cowen, playing his first game for the seconds, slammed the ball into the net. Shortly after the restart another short corner was awarded and Heard slipped a pass to Honey who powered the ball through the keeper?s legs. At this point Tavistock looked dominant but the composure turned to panic as pressure from Penzance mounted and a breakaway goal increased the tension. This week home to Camborne at 4.30pm and a cup match on Sunday against Exe.
