AT a party to celebrate the end of the successful Tavistock Carnival week, Lions Club member Frank Birch, who joined the club in Tavistock in 1981, was made a life member in tribute to his excellent service to the Lions over the last 30 years.

It was a double celebration for Frank as during the week before the carnival, he celebrated his 90th birthday.

Lion Club president Alan Wroath paid tribute to Frank's service and presented him with a certificate confirming his life membership as well as a present from the members of some gardening tokens.
