IN the latest of the series of Oracle lectures at Mount House School, renowned horsewoman Tracy Elliot-Reep recounted how she travelled up to 2,000 miles on long distance horse rides.

The accounts of her adventures will have inspired many of the Mount House children, an increasing number of whom ride themselves.

Tracey, a photo journalist who lives at Widecombe-in-the-Moor, travelled extensively through Europe and North America, teaching horse riding.

Her love of horses, adventure and photography have given her opportunities to travel to many places, including Africa, Tibet, Israel and Russia. She has ridden horses from the far north of Scotland to Land's End, across Ireland and Wales and has published three photographic books on her rides through New Zealand and Southern Ireland.
