Having beaten all the school teams who entered the National Schools' Tournament in the local round, Kelly netball team found the going quite tough in the next leg .
The teams Kelly were drawn against were West Buckland, losing 11-1, and 11-5 to Stoodley Knowle. However against King's School the girls rallied and Kelly won 10-2 with excellent shooting by Kate Newman and Fiona Thomas.
Against tournament winners Maynard School Kelly lost 14-2 but this score did not reflect the hard work and excellent defence of Anastasia Steed and Nikki Linney.
In the local rounds the Kelly first VII were unbeaten at the tournament held at Heles School in the Netball Dome. Scores: Kelly College firsts beat Tavistock 7-6, Kelly College Seconds 4-2, Plymouth College 7-4, Stoke Damerel 13-2, Ivybridge 11-3, Heles School 7-4.
All the team members played superbly.
