MEMBERS of Tavistock Lions Club and their families recently visited the headquarters of ShelterBox in Helston and presented David Glover, the Rotary liaison officer, with a cheque for £490 for the purchase of a Shelterbox that will soon be sent out to Haiti.

A spokesman for the Lions said: 'All agreed that it was a worthwhile visit, as it showed exactly for what the donation would be used and how important the contents are for survival in a disaster area.

'In due course the club will be advised of the number of the box, which will allow the club to follow its progress to the disaster area on the internet.'
