THE Lions Club of Tavistock delighted organisers of a new alternative arts festival with a generous cheque.

The Lions presented a cheque for £250 to Tavistock Edge to help with setting up costs. Tavistock Edge is a new group which will be involved in the fringe side of the arts and its members are planning a number of spontaneous events such as flash choirs and flash dances during Tavistock Carnival Week, which is organised by the Lions club. Currently, Tavistock Edge is running a 'Big Knit' event, including a 'wool amnesty' running throughout this month.
