Lifton Under 10s 3 Wadebridge Town Under 10s 1 LIFTON started off with most of the play and Rhys Hughes and Jack Williams both had chances at goal within the first 10 minutes. Harry Eaton managed to finish his attempt off. Although Wadebridge had a few efforts they were unable to get past the Lifton keeper. In the second half Mikey Steele scored within the first minute. Lifton?s exuberance caused them to concede a penalty and although keeper Ollie Cox got a hand on the ball, he couldn?t save it. Lifton took control again and quickly Chris Alford and Jack Williams had tremendous efforts and the Wadebridge keeper made some excellent saves. The third goal came for Jack Williams following a lovely run and cross from Harry Eaton. Man of the Match: Jake Murrain. Lifton travel to St Stephens this week. East Cornwall League St Stephens in Brannel 3 Lifton Under 10s 0 LIFTON decided to play uphill and into the wind for the first half. This was to their detriment as St Stephens scored three in the first 10 minutes. Lifton never really got into their rythym, although Jake Murrain and Harry Eaton were obvious battlers. Second half, playing with the wind did help Lifton, but St Stephens were always bigger and stronger. A couple of great corners from Harry Eaton saw the St Stephens goalie at full stretch but he always got there. Lifton did well to hold the score line. Man of the Match: Dominic Stanbury. Under 8s tournament at Bude Lifton 0 Southgate 1 LIFTON battled hard throughout the game. Harry Williams and George Murrain both had chances at goal. The second half carried on in much the same way but Southgate were pushing up and keeper, Seb Cox saved a few efforts. Good defensive work came from Tyler Volz. Southgate got a corner and slid one in the net in the closing minute. Lifton 0 Bude 0 AN evenly matched game with the whole team working hard. Bertie Rodgers made some determined moves up front but couldn?t quite finish it off. Harry Williams once again played with great determination and seemed to be everywhere. Theo Cousins, in goal, made some good saves. Lifton 2 Morwenstow 1 LIFTON started in determined mood. Cameron Heard shot on target but Morwenstow goalie managed to save it. Ollie Berkett tapped one into the net. Morwenstow equalised just before half time. Fired up by their earlier goal Bertie Rodgers, Harry Williams and Ollie Berkett all had attempts on target to no avail. Harry Williams made another shot but again it was saved. Finally following a cross from Seb Cox, Harry scored his elusive goal. Overall results see Lifton Under 8s second in the league.
