MORE than £150 was donated to the Save the Children fund at a recent talk given about life as a flying doctor in the Australian outback. Former Okehampton doctor Andrew Stainer-Smith and his wife Ruth gave a slideshow and talk about their two years in the Northern Territories which covered a broad range of topics, including crocodiles, Aboriginal culture and the politics of medical provision. Mrs Stainer-Smith thanked everyone who supported the well attended evening at Sticklepath Village Hall earlier this month.
