Crescent 2

Okehampton Argyle Seconds 3

OKEHAMPTON showed poor attitude and preparation before kick-off. Crescent had the better start with more organisation and pattern to their play.

They went 1-0 up with 15 minutes on the clock with a too flat back four caught out by a bit of pace. From the low cross the striker fired past Scott Leyman.

This seemed to buck up Okehampton and from good harassing from Ian Reddington the ball fell nicely to Danny Maddax who lashed in superbly from 25 yards.

Okehampton took the lead when Roger Voaden?s fine pass found Tom Williams on the wing and his cross was bundled home by Jason Sandford in a crowded box.

Okehampton were controlling the match and some neat midfield interplay was finished off by Sandford thumping home a fine low drive for the third.

The second half saw Crescent pressure Okehampton and again the visitors were caught flat on a breakaway with the home striker weaving a couple of tackles before slotting home neatly.

James Callaghan came on for Tom Williams, who had the ball in the back of the net but was adjudged to have handled. Nick Jones and Andrew Smith came on for Martyn Letchford and Maddax who both took knocks.

Crescent thought they had saved a point but a refereeing decision for offside denied the protesting home side.

Leyman pulled off a fantastic save in the dying minutes to maintain Okehampton?s unbeaten record against a strong Crescent side.

This Saturday away to University , 2.30pm kick-off.
