THE Okehampton Educational Foundation has helped Lewdown Cricket Club with £875 of funding towards a 10 week programme of cricket coaching in Okehampton.
This programme will be delivered by UKCC qualified and 'award winning' coaches from Lewdown Cricket Club. The coaching sessions will be fun yet challenging and will cater for boys and girls of all abilities.
U12s coaching starts from Thursday, April 22 and U13s from Wednesday, April 21 at Okehampton College, from 3.15pm-5pm.
A key stage one and key stage two cricket club is being organised for the children of Okehampton, with more details to follow.
Brenden Worth, a spokesman for Lewdown Cricket Club, said: 'We are delighted to provide cricket coaching to the youngsters of Okehampton. There is no junior cricket club in Okehampton and having delivered some taster sessions, it is evident that the children really do enjoy the game and want more of the same'.
With an U15s, U13s, three U11's and a girls team all playing from Lewdown, there is plenty of opportunity for children to progress into competitive cricket at a well run and welcoming Club. Friday night junior coaching starts at Lewdown CC at the end of April – all welcome.
