REF ATS article (October 21): without wishing to get embroiled in the politics of this matter I feel I must write and express my views as a businessman who has traded in Brook Street for 30 years.
Some businesses offer services, others goods or impulse-buys, but the greater the variety the more attractive the area becomes for the shopper at large.
ATS falls into the service sector and fits very well into the overall structure of Brook Street — it being on the perimeter with easy access for all who need it.
One question arises — if ATS moved would the site be made into the proposed public car park or would it go the way of the
residents' car park in Dolvin Road?
Unless a concrete plan for the future use of the ATS site is put into place before they are compelled to move, their relocation would have a detrimental effect on all the businesses in this end of the town.
