I WAS very excited when I saw BT?s ?Broadband Has Landed? adverts for its new high-speed internet connection service on the TV recently.

But my excitement turned to disappointment after I logged on to BT?s website only to be informed that I cannot receive the service, despite the company boasting that more than 70% of the country is covered.

I understand that my own village of Sampford Courtenay may not be a high priority for BT ? we have yet to get gas and cable is but a distant dream! ? but when I discovered that Okehampton is also ?not viable? I was pretty unimpressed.

Apparently, BT require interest from 300 customers before it will consider updating its exchanges in our area.

So if any readers are interested in faster downloads, better quality music, real-time games and the latest films, they should register their vote at http://www.bt.com/btbroadband/register">www.bt.com/btbroadband/register
