ELEVEN teams from Devon and Cornwall took part in the Far South West Lego Robotics Finals at Callington Community College last week.

This year the finals included teams from both primary and secondary schools from across Devon and Cornwall.

The event is a culmination of several months' hard work and dedication by both the students and their instructors.

This year's challenge was 'Senior Solutions' and the students had to overcome problems that the elderly might face.

West Exe College in Exeter won the event overall and will now represent the Westcountry at Loughborough University for the national finals at the end of January.

The education manager of First Lego League and the Institute of Engineering and Technology, attended the event and was very impressed with Callington College in its organisation of the day and the attendance of more than 100 youngsters.
