THE mayor of West Devon has a series of fundraising events lined up to support her chosen mayoral charity. In the centenary year since the start of the First World War, Cllr Christine Marsh has chosen to support the Royal British Legion. Her first fundraising event will be on Thursday, September 25, with help from the Victorian Tea Pantry, with 'Margaret's Magnificent All Day Charity Breakfast'. Breakfast costs £5.75 per head. The Charter Hall will host a coffee morning on October 4, and will then host a fashion show with Abstract, Mole Avon, Donald's Menswear, Purple Penguins and Rockin' Beads among those showing their wares on October 17. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. The final event is an archaeological talk about the remains of a Roman fort discovered outside Okehampton, and the Whitehorse Hill burial cist on Dartmoor. Bill Horner from Devon County Council and Dartmoor National Park's Jane Marchand will be the speakers.
