A MAN who stole a vacuum cleaner from a shop in Okehampton made off empty handed after the shop assistant chased him up the street, police said.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred at 11.50am last Wednesday (February 13.)
The thief, who was described as being in his 20s, is believed to have got into a red Fiat vehicle after being chased up to the Arcade where he dropped the vacuum cleaner.
