ONE of the country's most distinguished plantsmen, Roy Lancaster, will be delivering this year's lecture by the owners of the Garden House at Buckland Monachorum tomorrow evening (Friday)

The Fortescue Garden Trust, which was set up to secure the future of the Garden House by its creator Lionel Fortescue, is delighted to host this event which forms part of its golden jubilee celebrations this year.

It will be held at the Plymouth Postgraduate Medical Centre, Derriford Hospital at 7pm.

Roy Lancaster is widely known as a writer, lecturer and broadcaster. He frequently appears on TV programmes such as Gardeners' World and is a regular panellist on BBC Radio 4, Gardeners' Question Time.

His work has earned him the Royal Horticultural Society's highest award, the Victoria Medal of Honour, and the OBE for services to horticulture.
