A TOTAL of 600 children enjoyed an action packed day, when they tackled dangerous emergencies at the West Devon Junior Life Skills day. The primary school pupils, from across West Devon, ventured to Okehampton Army Training Camp where they were faced with nine simulated emergencies which they were encouraged to deal with, with the help of trained experts. The event, organised by West Devon Borough Council, is now in its eleventh year and is supported by Devon and Cornwall Police, British Red Cross and other regional organisations alerting youngsters to dangerous scenarios they could one-day encounter. West Devon Mayor, Jayne Hill, said: ?Junior Life Skills is a challenge and great fun which is a perfect combination for children to learn some important messages.?
