CONSERVATION and recreation charity South West Lakes Trust will be holding a series of rural skills courses at Roadford Lake over the next few months. The courses include hedge laying and coppicing and have been organised by the trust?s central area ranger, Ben Smeeth. The first hedge laying course will be on Sunday October 21, and will offer the opportunity for participants to learn the traditional skills of hedge laying at Roadford Lake. The second course will be on Sunday November 25 and will be a coppicing course. The courses are £10 per person (per course) and run from 9.30am until 4.30pm. Participants will require stout footwear and waterproof clothing and will need to book on 01566 771930. The rural skills courses at Roadford Lake are supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the European Regional Development Fund and South West Regional Development Agency.
