A GROUP of adults with learning needs will be raising money for BBC Children in Need by selling new and second-hand goods, as well as craft items they have made in Tavistock on Friday (November 18).

The adults are all on courses with adult learning provider Learn Devon at The Alexander Centre in Tavistock. They will be using skills they have gained on the English and maths course to run the stand, which will be in Bedford Square from 10am to 3pm. As well as second-hand goods, they will be selling items made on their craft course and products donated by shops and businesses in Tavistock.

Learn Devon tutor Caroline Ross, who teaches the group, said: ’We have supported Children in Need in the past, but with thanks to the pannier market, which has arranged for us to have a marquee on Bedford Square, we are hoping to attract a lot more people this year and therefore raise more money.

’We’ve had a great reaction from people so far and would like to say a huge thank you to all those involved in the planning. It’s a fantastic feeling to know we’re helping to raise money for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.’
