The Lambs put up a good performance against the league leaders who needed just three points for the championship.
The Lambs' first chance at goal came after 15 minutes when Simon Parnell set up Steve Daymond whose shot had keeper Taylor scrambling the ball around the post. The Saints kept up the pressure forcing three more corners and Andy Meeds did well to push a high cross over his cross bar.
The Lambs' best chance came after 35 minutes when Parnell turned his marker to send in a good cross but John Hajiyanni could only glance it wide of a post.
The Saints finally broke the Lambs resistance after 78 minutes. Appeals for a foul throw went unheeded and Gosling crossed for Waters to come ghosting in to slot the ball past Meeds from close range.
But the Lambs were always in it and despite losing substitute Rob Hawkins who was sent off after only being on the field for five minutes they almost levelled. Mark Wall's quick free kick caught out the Saints defence and Daymond's shot sailed just over the bar. A solid performance from the Lambs and they were encouraged to keep the leaders down to a single goal victory both home and away.

WITH a strong wind in their favour the Lambs got off to the perfect start when a through-ball from James Cole after two minutes allowed Steve Daymond to run onto. With keeper Adrian Lamerton hesitant in coming off his line he was ably to roll the ball in at the far post.
Appeals for a penalty were denied after 20 minutes when Daymond went sprawling in the area before Steve Brownlow sent in a shot that sailed just over the crossbar.
The Magpies almost drew level five minutes before the interval but Andy Meeds came out to close down the striker and save a certain goal.
The Lambs had to defend at the start of the second half with the visitors having the wind advantage. Holsworthy's front pair Ian Rowe and Clark went close on the 70-minute mark. Gott had a chance with ten minutes remaining to put the Lambs further ahead but they had to wait until the final minute to put the game safe.
From a Holsworthy corner the Lambs broke quickly as sub Nathan Blamey supplied Gott on the halfway line. His crossfield ball found Parnell who slotted home for a peach of a breakaway goal. There was still time for the Lambs to almost grab a third with Daymond going through but Lamerton did well to save.
