A PAINTING by a West Devon artist has been selected as the website and twitter branding for a youth charity in London.
'Free as a Butterfly', by Laure Bury, appears on the website of Art for Youth, a popular exhibition, now in its 25th year, which has raised more than £1-million for the national youth work charity, UK Youth.
It is the fifth year that Laure has been invited to exhibit at Art for Youth at the Royal College of Art where her colourful butterfly paintings are much admired by the London public.
Laure said: 'I feel very fortunate that my paintings are appreciated, allowing me to continue working at a job I love, developing and improving my techniques.
'I have also been asked to carry out workshops for the under-privileged youth that the charity has supported for the last 25 years. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and young adults and witnessing the freedom of their creativity. It is a voyage of self-discovery for all involved.'
Her next exhibition opens this Sunday, October 21, at Art@Kragga in Sweden. She has also been invited to exhibit in Barcelona next year: 'I have always loved Barcelona for its colour and vibrancy and am very excited about working there.'
Laure, who lives near Tavistock, holds workshops locally with Kelly College, Devon Young Carers and at Blue Button Craft in Yelverton.
A graduate of Westminster University, Laure exhibits her paintings across the south west, London, Paris and Spain. They can be found in private collections across Mexico, USA, France, Italy, Spain and the UK.
