TAVISTOCK Area Support Services (TASS) is launching a new initiative at the end of this month to raise the profile of community transport.

The initiative, Transport For Your Community, is sponsored by GM Coachwork and the Devon County Council community transport team, and will be officially launched on Friday April 30 at the Anchorage Centre in Tavistock, between 2pm and 3.30pm.

The launch will feature a short DVD followed by a presentation highlighting the ways transport can support people in the community to get out and about.

There will also be a chance to talk with the co-ordinators of Ring and Ride, TaviMOBILITY, voluntary car and hospital car services, TASS transport services and Tavistock Country Bus.

A representative of the West Devon Transport Access Group will also be on hand to answer wider questions on transport issues.

A cream tea will be available after to celebrate the launch of Transport For Your Community.
