shoppers braved bad weather to enjoy two late night shopping evenings in Chagford on Friday, December 7 and Tuesday December 11. Despite rain on the Friday evening businesses reported a brisk trade. Hardy shoppers enjoyed music and mulled wine. On the second evening a hog roast and a visit from Father Christmas were crowd pleasers. Sue Kendall, from the Business Association said the town?s late night shopping was attracting locals and people from outside the district: ?I met visitors from Moretonhampstead and Okehampton, but also Exeter, who said that it was great to see late night shopping with a real sense of community. ?Next year we hope it will be even bigger and better, with more entertainment.? Chagford Business Association draw tickets were sold during the late night shopping. Sue and Rod Webber from the Business Association picked the eleven lucky winners.
