Hatherleigh 0
Sidmouth Town 0
WITH both teams fielding weakened sides and the pitch very heavy it was not surprising that neither managed to settle into any rhythm.
Hatherleigh were forced to change the team around due to injuries and absentees, but despite this the newcomers to the team acquitted themselves well.
It was new boy Andy Vallance who had the best chance of the first half. Following a good run down the right by Stuart Dymond his cross found Vallance unmarked but his shot drifted just wide.
Dymond himself, just after, forced the keeper into a good save and the rebound was somehow scrambled away.
The second half saw Sidmouth enjoy the lion's share of possession but as in the first half Hatherleigh had the best chances, Steve Parsons providing the first one for Martin Heard whose shot was well saved.
Indeed, they could have taken all three points when Simon James broke clear late on and laid the ball off to Andy Harnell. He found himself clear on goal only to see his effort go wide of the post.
