ORGANISERS of the Okehampton shoebox appeal have announced that the last 25 boxes, filled with goodies for homeless children in Syria, will be delivered this week.

The last 25 shoeboxes, which were donated past the deadline at Christmas, were shipped to Syria and will arrive this week.

The appeal helped more than 200 homeless and vulnerable children in Syria.

The campaign involved members of the Okehampton community donating clothes, wash products, books, toys, sweets and treats to refugee Syrian children.

Closer to Christmas, items can be donated separately, or multiple items can be donated in a wrapped shoebox.

Sharon Godfrey, organiser of the appeal in Okehampton, wished to thank everyone who donated a shoe box and helped to a homeless and vulnerable child in Syria.
