Bere Alston Utd 3 St Minver 2 BERE like to do things the hard way, completely outplaying St Minver and trying to commit suicide. Bere played the ball around well but the wayward shooting cost them when, from a corner, St Minver took the lead with a free header. Bere ran the game and it was not until the last minute of the half Steve Daymond swept clear and his centre was hit home by Steve Piper. One way traffic and wasted chances resumed in the second half. St Minver retook the lead as three Bere players could not clear a high ball with no pressure on them, the ball landing on the edge of the area to be sweetly struck home to put the visitors in front. Will Westlake got onto a through ball, beat the keeper and his shot was cleared off the line by a backtracking defender. Ross Hann levelled for Bere, beating three defenders in a run and striking a left foot shot to beat the keeper. Bere besieged St Minver goal and in the last minute Ben Rushell got clear to roll the ball home past the advancing keeper for the winner. Saturday, home to St Dominick, Premier League, 2.30pm kick-off. Pensilva Reserves 2 Bere Alston Reserves . 3 BERE travelled to Pensilva on the back of five straight league wins and got stuck in straight from the whistle. Bere?s central partnership of Mckinnon and Claridge stamped their authority upon the game although both managed to pick up yellow cards within the first 10 minutes for rash challenges. Once again Montgomery kept Bere in the game, pulling off several unbelievable saves as the game rocketed from end to end in the appalling conditions. Both teams squandered several clear chances and it wasn?t until after the break that Pensilva got the elusive goal the game was missing. This appeared to be the kick Bere needed to fire them into action. Bere?s patience paid off when Kyle Robinson broke thorough and brought Bere back on level terms. Bere struck again quickly when Rob Letchford fired home Bere?s second after Pensilva failed to clear the ball from a corner. Bere punished Pensilva again for not clearing the ball 10 minutes later when Steve Pratt hammered home another un-dealt with corner. This should have been the end for Pensilva but to their credit they pushed hard and were rewarded with a second goal 20 minutes before the final whistle, making for a tense end to the game.
