ARCHIVE footage from Tavistock's past will be shown in the town hall on Friday, October 23.

The film clips being shown will be the last in the South West Film Archive to feature Tavistock.

This, the fourth film evening organised by Tavistock Museum, will feature new footage of social events and reports of happenings in Tavistock and the surrounding villages, including Lamerton, Brentor, Peter Tavy, Mary Tavy.

These will include the 'Son et Lumiere' festival staged on Bedford Square in 1988, local scouts rafting down the river, and an interview with the local publican who claimed he could charm away warts.

Tickets are now on sale from Tavistock Museum, the tourist information office and subject to availability on the door, priced at £4 per adult and £2 for young people.

The event is being staged at 7.30pm. The event is being held to raise money for an extension to the museum.
