Devon League
Chagford v Shobrook Park
CHAGFORD batting first lost Duncan Christophers with the score at only four, but useful stands with Henry Gordon Lennox (11) Del Lammonby (15) and Neal Rowlands (32) took the score to 143 for four when Chris Filor was dismissed for top score of 44, following his high scoring in the seconds.
However the introduction of Pete Turner into the Shobrook attack paid dividends as he finished off the rest of the batting as Chagford collasped to 180 all out with out batting through the 46 overs. Turner finished with five for 35 and opening bowler Knoll three for 53 in his ten overs.
Chagford were disappointed with this score on a good batting wicket but Shobbrook wickets tumbled to the extent that they were soon 35 for seven.
However, Richard Pyle at number eight and Pete Turner steadied the innings and with solid defence took the score to 121 before Pyle was dismissed for 42. However Turner continued his innings to finish with a well deserved 50 not out with Shobbrook on 135 for eight to earn them a losing draw,
In the Chagford attack Del Lammonby was outstanding with 4 for 45 and was well supported by Duncan Christophers two for 15 and Rowlands two for 22.
Chagford 14 points, Shobrook 6 points.
