TAVISTOCK?S Carlsberg South Western and Plymouth & West Devon Combination sides have finished their seasons. The Carlsberg side avoided re election to the League when Callington failed to get any points from their match last week against Newquay, leaving the impossible task of going to Penryn and having to win by 41 goals to nil. It had been a rather disastrous season for the Lambs winning just four games and drawing eight out of thirty two. A first round win in the league cup against Plymouth Parkway saw them through to the last eight but they progressed no further going out to Truro. The small crumb of comfort saw them lift the Bedford Cup for the first time in a decade. The P & W D side, despite a rocky start ,saw them get a balanced side into the autumn to creep up the table and finish in 6th position and they completed their season on Saturday night by lifting the Active Alarms Challenge Bowl, beating Friendship Inn by three goals to two. Forthcoming events: It is the F A Cup Final this Saturday and the Red & Black will be opening its doors at 1pm for the build up to kick off at 3pm. Members and their guests are invited to come on down and enjoy the game on the large screen. The two final matches for the Lambs see the Tavistock Vets take on a Birmingham touring side on Sunday morning at Crowndale with a 10.30am kick off followed by the last game for the Under 18?s against Callington Colts at 2pm.
