Tavistock 6
Bodmin Town 1
THE Lambs regained second place in the table after this comfortable win over lowly Bodmin.
They stamped their authority on the game from the start when Lee Beer?s cross was tipped onto the post by Bodmin?s new signing keeper Neil Montadon from Newton Abbott.
In the eighth minute the Lambs took the lead when a half clearance was put back into the area by James Cole for Lee Doncaster to shoot home at the second attempt.
The visitors were made to pay dearly a minute later when Antony Zoffman?s mistake allowed John Gosling to cross for Doncaster to stretch and direct the ball home.
It was all over as a contest after 20 minutes when Beer and Gosling combined to allow Doncaster to get his hat-trick. It was all Tavistock for the remainder of the half but they had to wait until seven minutes before the break to get their third when Scorer became provider to allow his strike partner Paul
Adcock to get on the scoresheet.
The goal of the game came eleven minutes after the interval as John Hadjiyianni picked up a loose ball in the Bodmin half to weave across the penalty area before unleashing a left-foot shot high into the net.
The Lambs then forced three corners in as many minutes and from the third Jeff Babb headed home after Chris Gott and Hadjiyianni had combined for the latter to cross.
The visitors scored a consolation goal with 20 minutes remaining when Adam Lee slotted home but it did not deter from a fine display by the home side.
The perfect result as the absent joint manager Craig Smith celebrated the birth of a daughter earlier in the day.
