Tavistock AFC 0

Liskeard Athletic 0

THE Lambs missed a golden opportunity to move into second place in the league when they failed to beat lowly Liskeard in a rearranged game at Langsford Park.

The Lambs started off really well and should have been at least three goals ahead in the opening 20 minutes. Once again scoring chances were created, but the failure to convert their superiority into goals was all too evident.

Tavistock had four great chances to open their account, first Carter headed over the bar from a cross from Krac. This was followed a few minutes later when the same player was put through with only the keeper to beat, but failed to convert this chance. Then Conday fired wide when really well placed, and Krac fired over the bar when he should have scored.

Liskeard somehow kept the Lambs at bay, and as the interval approached their confidence grew, when they had their first real attempt on the home goal.

The second was a much closer contest and the visitors really came out and took the game to Tavistock and created one or two chances, to really upset the form book, but goalkeeper Andy Meeds was on hand to ensure the home defence was not breached.

The Lambs created further chances but woeful finishing and some fine goal keeping resulted in the game remaining goal less, with the Lambs dropping two valuable points.

With other results going in Tavistock's favour they missed out in moving to second place, and remain in forth place.

The Lambs now have eight games left to play, six of which are at home.

The team urge people to come along to Langsford Park to support and cheer the team on to finish in the top three.
