THE Lambs bounced back from defeat the previous Saturday with this convincing victory that keeps them well on course for second spot.

The first half was a dull affair with chances few and far between. It amounted to a succession of free kicks and the nearest anyone came to scoring was Mark Wall whose shot sailed just wide ten minutes before the interval.

The second period made amends with Lambs keeper Andy Meeds having to make excellent saves to prevent the Bridgers from going two up.

But the Lambs responded around the hour mark. James Cole?s corner was headed back across goal by Darren Babb for Paul Adcock to turn over the bar. Adcock combined with Lee Doncaster to set up Wayne Crow to side-foot a volley past a helpless Mark Gears.

The Lambs survived another scare when a mix-up in defence saw the ball cannon off an upright and bounce back into the grateful arms of Meeds. But they finished the stronger with John Gosling hitting the crossbar on 78 minutes and went one better a minute later as he controlled Cole?s far post cross to steady himself to volley home.

Five minutes later the Lambs capped a good evening?s work when from a throw in Gosling became provider for Paul Smith to work himself into the area and fire in a low shot through a crowd of players to squeeze the ball inside the far post.

THE Lambs were missing John Gosling, Chris Gott and John Hadjiyianni but drafted in Steve Brownlow from the P&D side with Simon Parnell on the bench.

It was a nervy start for the Lambs with Darren Babb coming to their rescue after six minutes to clear off the line a certain goal but they settled and took the lead on 15 minutes.

A James Cole free kick into the area caused problems for the home defence and as the ball bounced high Wayne Crow challenged with keeper Greg White and it ran loose for Lee Doncaster to slot home.

From the kick off the Lambs regained possession for Doncaster to see his effort glance off the top of the bar. From another free kick the Lambs doubled their score. Nathan Blamey?s fierce shot through the wall was too hot to handle and there was Doncaster to follow up and slot home from close range.

In the second half, a long kick out from goal seemed to have been dealt with as Babb back-headed towards the Lambs? goal but it took a bounce in front of Meeds and fell for Damian Stevens to send it across goal for Karl Turner to lash the ball home.

The home side got their equaliser with 20 minutes remaining. A Falmouth free-kick was not cleared and Steve Proctor was able to turn it back in for Robert Troon to head home through a clutch of players.

It looked as if the Lambs were going to have to settle for a point but they got the winner four minutes from the end. Paul Smith?s throw in was intercepted by the home side but they got the ball back in midfield and worked it down the right for Brownlow to set up Doncaster to shoot through a crowd of players for his hat trick.
